According to many sources, Global Force Wrestling Chief Creative Officer Jeff Jarrett is stepping down from his position due to "personal issues", which is leading to wide speculation on the condition of the company as a whole. Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated is reporting that "GFW is hemorrhaging funds, and sources close to the situation have confirmed that Anthem is ready to withdraw itself from the wrestling industry and sell GFW. Anthem even needed to gut the Fight Network in order to finance GFW." Now this isn't the first time that this company has had financial troubles, but this is not good. If Anthem backs out and sells the company, it would be the company's third ownership group to sell in about 3 years. There are lawsuits on the company from the Matt Hardy Broken Brilliance trademark fight, and former majority investor Billy Corgan's lawsuit. Also of note, the fact that Jarrett owns the name "Global Force Wrestling" complicates any sale going forward. There have been rumblings for a couple of years that the WWE has had interest in buying the company just for it's vast tape library of over 3,000 hours of content to showcase on it's WWE Network. And a majority of the WWE's current stars, including Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, Eric Young, Samoa Joe and others got the biggest amount of their past stardom as headliners in GWF, formerly known as TNA Wrestling.
